Company Overview

Where we work · Ventura County

New home plans in Ventura County.

We prepare new-home plan sets for unincorporated Ventura County and its cities, and work through plan check toward Ready to Issue.

Agencies

  • Ventura County Resource Management Agency Building & Safety, Planning and Environmental Health, with submittals through VC Citizen Access (desktop or laptop only, per the portal).

Reviews & clearances we often see

  • Ventura County Fire Prevention

  • Environmental Health Land Use and OWTS review

  • A Planning zoning clearance, which the OWTS application requires

  • Water and sewer districts; Public Works will-serve letters for new water service

  • School district fees

  • Coastal zone: the Coastal Area Plan and Coastal Zoning Ordinance form the County LCP, last amended in 2017

  • Fire hazard zones under VCFPD Ordinance 33 (effective July 2025). Fillmore, Oxnard and Ventura adopt their own maps.

How a project usually moves

In our experience, projects here usually move through a Planning zoning clearance, a Citizen Access building submittal, fire and environmental health reviews, uploads of agency clearances, and then Ready to Issue.

County agencies cover unincorporated areas. Each incorporated city has its own building department and timelines.
