A studio built around a love of homes.
The studio
With 24 years of design experience, we have been drawing homes for Southern California families. Our team designs every project in-house, and we care about the details most people never see but everyone feels.
Founded by Miguel Estrada.
Why we do it this way
Eastlake Design Studio was founded by Miguel Estrada, who brings 24 years of experience in residential design and permitting help. We bring that experience to every home we draw, and we look forward to hearing about yours.
Building or rebuilding a home brings a hundred questions. Often one person draws the plans and another takes them through the city, and when plan check comments come back, the family is left waiting in between.
We do both, and we stay with you. Our team prepares the construction documents and walks with the project through every round of plan check, working toward Ready to Issue (RTI). Approvals are made by the jurisdiction. Because we know our drawings sheet by sheet, corrections stay with the people who know the drawings.
Working with building departments across Southern California, we have learned how each one reviews plans, and we draw with that in mind from day one. We still look at every detail as if it were our own home.
How we work
Construction documents drawn in-house
Structural and energy calculations by independent consultants when required
Clear communication at every step of plan check
Honest guidance on what your project needs, up front
Jurisdictions across Southern California
Every building department has its own forms, checklists and reviewers. We have prepared and processed plans in each of the jurisdictions below.
